NEW CHURCH BUILDING COMMISSIONED

We take this opportunity to Give Glory to God for the accomplishment of building a worship place for him.

November 24th 2019 will remain a permanent mark in the lives of the community of St. Andrew’s Church Bukoto as we Glorify God for being always faithful to us. We commissioned God’s House of Worship through an event attended by over 2,000.

Special thanks to all the clergy who developed the vision for a new Church, Rev.Can.Micah Bwami, Rev. Canon Alfred Kweteisa who worked on the ground breaking ceremony and laying the foundation. Rev. Moses Isabirye who led many phases of the project, Rev.Can.Michael Mukhwana among others.

Hon. David Bahati the Minister of State for Finance and Planning was the Chief Guest flanked by Hon. Michael Werikhe the Minister of State for Trade among other dignitaries.

Hon. Bahati asked the church to support the central government in the fight against graft. He noted that Uganda has over 80% Christian but the rates of corruption are high hence the need for church intervention.

Hon. Bahati spearheaded the fundraising for the purchase of state of the art public address system, pews, and music organ. Through the fundraising a total of 101 Million Uganda shillings was mobilized out of the about 600 Million shillings required. Dr. Patrick Bitature offered the church a high- voltage generator to back up the main power from Umeme.

This project was majorly funded by collections, auctions and generous contributions from parishioners of St. Andrews Church. God also blessed the church with hefty contributions from various donors who included among others Seroma hardware, Hardware world, Women’s Hospital of Bukoto and Tororo Cement who supported finishing works.

The new church building will seat over 2000 people. It is a 3 Story building with a mezzanine floor for worshipers, a chapel and 14 other rooms to be converted into offices and prayer rooms.

At St. Andrew’s Church we are committed to our Motto; “St. Andrew’s, we are Fishers of Men” Matthew 4. We shall endeavor to bring all Men and Women closer to Christ.
